We truly appreciate your involvement with dNeero and hope that these conversations generate some thought and some fun ... and we hope that you and your network of friends and associates use dNeero to start up conversations and learn a bit more about one another. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! | It Drives Us Nuts! President-Elect Barack Obama spoke with Tom Brokaw on NBC's Meet the Press. A hefty portion of time was spent talking about the U.S auto industry. | Base Performance Nutrition Founded by Chris Lieto, Base Performance Nutrition is a proven system that provides an enhanced nutritional framework to aid success in endurance sports. And now Base Performance needs your help! We want to know what you think about our products so that we can make you even faster! A donation will be made to Athletes for a Cure for everybody who joins the conversation. | SHORT VERSION - Visual Talking -- Put Images Where Your Mouth Is! Help VT grow - join the convo and participate in a Visual Talking contest ... $1,500 total ... we want you to win!!
Mark Grace, founder of Visual Talking, thanks all dNeero-ites for their suggestions and comments. Because of you, Visual Talking has redesigned their site and added features. They're not done, so please keep those suggestions and comments coming. The main purpose of this convo is build up the inventory of standard sentences - these are sentences that we use often - think of those texting abbreviations like OMG, LOL, CMON, WU?, GAL. We'd like you to create standard sentences ... create as many as you wish. And to encourage you to do that, we are going to run a contest. We'll choose the top 20 standard sentences in each category (Greetings, Questions, Answers, Love, Action), and then run another convo in which you'll choose your favorite sentences. The top five in each category will share a $300 purse ($150, $75, $35, $25, $15) ... and you may win in multiple categories!! How do we choose the top 20? It's up to you ... your answer to question 7 below will help determine the five criteria our judges will use. | Let's talk about ham! We're collecting thoughts on your favorite meat... ham! | dNeero Flash Embed V2 Test We're starting to roll out a new flash embed widget and need your help. We'll do a few tests and then we'll do a few convos asking for your feedback on V2. Thanks for the help. | Your Health Care Think 3 Ps: Good health care is preventive, predictive and personalized, a rarity today in a crisis-oriented care system far better at treating disease than keeping it at bay. It's going beyond standard disease-of-the-day care to involve a range of extra factors (physical, lifestyle habits, mind-body interaction) that play a role in preventing illness, and helping people stick with recommended changes long enough to see a benefit. | Financial Planning and You Financial planning is more important than ever. Share your thoughts and experiences. | Universal Health Care Polls indicate that most Americans are satisfied with their coverage. But the White House and other advocates of overhauling healthcare say people are probably paying more for insurance each year. Premiums for employer-provided plans have risen four times faster than wages, and are now double their cost nine years ago. Deductibles are rising as well. Supporters of the legislation contend that healthcare costs are a drag on the economy. | Lung Cancer - It's Not Only For Smokers! Lung cancer kills more people annually than breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, liver cancer, melanoma, and kidney cancer combined! The 5-year survival rate for lung cancer is only 15 percent. Sixty percent of lung cancer cases are now diagnosed as nonsmokers or former smokers. Two-thirds of nonsmokers diagnosed with lung cancer are women. | Curl Up With Hair! Yep, curly hair may well be the next fashion trend. But curly hair comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities, which are met by products and stylists. | Personal Moving and Storage Moving your stuff is never easy. But there's a whole industry that can help! In this conversation we ask for your opinions about moving and storage companies. | Health Care Affordability Strong majorities of Americans across the political spectrum would support diverse approaches to expanding health insurance coverage, including letting uninsured adults participate in Medicare or state public insurance programs, such as Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program, offering tax credits for people to purchase coverage on their own or requiring employers to offer and contribute to the cost of their employees' health insurance coverage. | Endurance Athletes - A Panel Thanks for the great response to "Endurance Athletes". We have chosen you for our Endurance Athletes Panel. This panel is made up of those that either currently are or have been endurance athletes. You will be receiving invitations to join conversations that revolve around the lifestyle of an endurance athlete ... that means we'll address training and competition, but also music, movies, vacations, politics etc. ... endurance athletes are people too! If you wish to be removed from this panel, please let us know in the last question or send us a message from your account http://www.dneero.com/account/inbox.jsp
Let's start the stream of conversations with questions asked by your fellow dNeero-ites. | Do You Care? dNeero-ites Care! Looks like dNeero-ites care ... celebrity deaths, international politics and problems, recession, flu, Harry Potter ... my o my ... here are some of the questions we all asked. For your User Question this time, suggest you concentrate on technology (gadgets, phones, TV, PC, whatever). | Do You Care? Why not? Why? There are so many things that happen, and so many facts ... but really, how much of all this affects you or that you can affect?
dNeero is going to add "Do You Care?" conversations to it's already successful "SpitzTunes" series. We'll look at the news from many sources ... if you have a favorite online source, please let us know.
We'll always end with the question "What do you care about most right now?" | SpitzTunes -- Ya Gotta Love It! Driving home from work the other day, Air Supply's "All Out Of Love" came on the radio. Despite the hilariously hokey melody and lyrics, I started thinking...are we in fact all out of love? What has happened to the love song? Has it changed for better or for worse? I guess that's for you to decide. | Endurance Athletes Endurance training and racing requires quite a commitment from athletes ... the commitment is for time and money ... they put up with pain, they eat for the event and buy supplements that cost a bundle ... their equipment is specialized to their events (shoes, high performance clothing, bikes, skis, wet suit, heart monitor, exercise equipment, etc., etc.) Some of the athletes are in the professional ranks, but most are age-groupers. Why do the age-groupers do it? | SpitzTunes -- Working My Way Back to You! I've been away for a while .. not because of lack of interest, but because I've been away ... wanted to get this convo going ... in coming convos I'm going to do themes ... for example, politics in music, sports in music, sexuality in music ... if you have any suggestions, please let me know in the last question. And yes, the first question came about because I just did exactly that, with The Best of the Four Seasons! | Hair, Beautiful Hair! Short, long, high & tight, sculpted, point cut, dread locks, mohawk ... different climates, cultures, locations seem to demand different hair styles. Who leads the way in hairstyling ... Paul Mitchell, Vidal Sasson ... or is it the celebs with their personal stylists ... regardless the media picks it up, judges it, and we adjust. | buzzTrendz ... Bringing Twitter and YouTube together! buzzTrendz combines the latest tweets with like-subject matter YouTube videos to give you "what's hot now" ... as I'm writing this the most recent trends are Mewcastle, Miss California, Shuttle Atlantis ... wait a few minutes and there will be others ... and don't ignore the "random trends" ... everytime you refresh, a new set of the hottest keywords used on the internet show you both the tweets and the YouTube videos that are making the keyword hot. Oh yeah, go to buzzTrendz.com. | Tattoos ... Unsavory or Main Stream? Emerging from their often unsavoury reputation of the recent past, tattoos have gained increasing prominence in the past decade. Life magazine estimated in 1936 that 10 million Americans, or approximately 6% of the population had at least one tattoo. A Harris Poll, done in 2003, nearly triples those numbers and estimates that 16% of Americans now have one or more tattoos. According to a 2006 survey by the Pew Research Center, thirty-six percent of those ages 18 to 25, and 40 percent of those ages 26 to 40, have at least one tattoo. | What Your Hair Says About You! When you know it's time to change your style, we bet it's because of how you're feeling ... and don't tell me that that the shaved look in the military doesn't have as much or more to do with fitting in, and it does with functionality. How important is our hair? Do a search for 'hair' in Bing.com (Microsoft's new search engine) and you'll be loaded with 249 million pages ... search for 'shoes' and you'll only get 152 million pages ... it ain't scientific, but it sure is suggestive. | Oprah, Hugh, Twitter and Entainment Stuff! Some celebs are really into tweeting - Oprah appears to be one, but she's very new to it, so let's see how long she remains really active. WhoCelebsTweet.com is following bunches of celebs ... if you'd like some others, just make a suggestion. | Tweet, Tweet ... dNeero's all a-Twitter! dNeero will now be igniting conversations inside of Twitter ... and you'll get paid for responding. Twitter's about micro blogging ... dNeero's about conversations ... dNeero in Twitter is about micro conversations. Our lives are an aggregate of a gazillion things we do ... and those that follow us would like to know ... "had a rough day", "boss is on my nerves", "my stocks are up - YAY!", "had an accident ... at emergency room ... I'm OK", "connected w/ Tom on Facebook ... he's my grade school squeeze", dNeero asked if I made a stranger smile this morning -- "Heck, yes, it was John, the bus driver." NOTE: This is an Access Code only conversation. To get the Access Code you need to - follow us on Twitter
- reply to one of the questions that starts with "Q:$0.10:"
- add your Twitter username to your dNeero account (in Account Settings)
- sit back and wait an hour... we collect Twitter answers every hour or so
Once you do those things you'll see the Access Code just after login on the 'Your Account' page. | Memorial Day In U.S. we remember those that have fought for our freedem ... we don't take freedom lightly, but sometimes we take those defenders of freedom for granted ... jeez, they're there, it's a job, do your thing, let me do my thing ... not quite that easy ... let's not forget that they also fought alongside our friends in many other nations to preserve a peacefully, free way of life for others, worldwide. | Watch Out, Here Comes The Jury!! Madonna's done it, Steve Carrell's done it, Brad Pitt's done it, J. Lo's done it, Harrison Ford's done it ... do you do it? The protection of rights and liberties of litigants in courts is largely achieved through the teamwork of judge and jury. That's us - The Jury. | whoCelebsTweet.com - Celebrities on Twitter Twitter is all the rage these days. WhoCelsbsTweet.com allows you to see what celebs are saying and who they're saying it about. | Science Museums - Fun, Education, Volunteering, Giving - Recession!? Interactivity in museums ... in years past you would go to a science museum and look at the marvels that man had made or discovered ... informative, interesting, but something was lacking ... then came the idea of interactivity ... touch, feel, explore, experience ... and amazingly, we learn! Yet, we have this thing called a recession ... maybe it's global ... and "Only 16 percent of the nonprofits expect to cover their operating expenses this year, while 52 percent anticipate the recession will have a long-term or permanent negative effect on their organizations." CNN 3/26/2009. | Uncovering Opportunity in a Crisis Tough times ... would be nice to have a financial institution that gives back its earnings to its customers and local communities. "It's true with a credit union you give up convenience, but in return, you get better deals," says Clark Howard, author of Get Clark Smart: The Ultimate Guide for the Savvy Consumer and host of a nationally syndicated radio talk show on finances. | Obama ... dNeero ... Twitter ... You! dNeero is now igniting conversations inside of Twitter ... we try to choose topical questions, and it seems that over the last couple of weeks it's been the Obama Tweet for dNeero. So, we thought we'd bring those dNeero/Twitter questions and answers here, to a dNeero convo.
Some of you may already follow us on Twitter. For those that don't yet do that, it's pretty simple: get a Twitter account, follow dNeero on Twitter, and add your Twitter username to you dNeero profile (in Account Settings). | Travel 4 Pleasure -- What's It All About? You may have taken travel for pleasure off of your priority list, but it's likely that you just altered how you're going to do that travel. What elements make travel worthwhile, fun, memorable?
And let's not ignore that category of 'mandatory travel' that involves business, family crisis, job change, school, etc. | Cuba -- Is It Time? Are diplomatic and economic ties with Cuba the right thing for the U.S.? Obama and supporters say "Yes"; some Cuban-Americans say "No". Broad economic sanctions against Cuba have been in place since 1962, with the original goal being to bring down Fidel Castro's Marxist regime. Has that goal been met? Is it time to change? | Obama -- Health Care -- Help!? People in the U.S. spend $2.4 trillion a year on health care, or about $7,900 per person. That's more than twice as much per capita as in other advanced countries. But few would claim those dollars are buying good value. The costs are a staggering burden for taxpayers, employers and families, and the recession is leaving more people without insurance. Three perspectives on the Health Care issue: The main problem with the health care system is that costs keep going up -- We don't need to rip up the existing health care system and start over -- Decent health care ought to be a basic right. | SpitzTunes -- Boyle-n' Over! Let's suspend all those User Questions about 'what's your favorite genre', 'who's your favorite singer', 'do you like the xyz group' 'can you live without music' ... instead, please get into the conversation, understand it, feel it, think about it, and ask a question that applies to your life, your network. Here are some examples of what I consider a really good User Questions from our most recent SpitzTunes: "Do you think powerful concert mania equates to great singers?" "Do you enjoy outdoor summer concerts or do you find them packed and crazy?" "How much would you pay for a ticket to see Michael Jackson in concert?" "When does mania go over the top?" | The Earth ... You Touch It ... Then What? This convo is about our feet. You've probably heard the expression "Come down to earth." ... well, when we get there, those two dangling appendages that stay in constant contact with the earth, can be the cause of pain. Most of us put up with it, and for some of us it becomes unbearable. I learned at Foot Solutions that the cause may well be shoes ... it wasn't an academic discussion ... they actually made some foot pain disappear. | SpitzTunes -- Concert Mania! Mania- what is it? "excitement manifested by mental and physical hyperactivity, disorganization of behavior, and elevation of mood" ... you know when you see it, feel it, participate in it ... live performances generate the heat ... not all of them ... but concert mania happens when artsts like the Beatles, Cream, Rolling Stone, Michael Jackson, U2, Metallica, and even Miley Cyrus take the stage ... let's talk about the kind of mania that makes us feel really good! | SpitzTunes -- I AM a Boy! Really appreciate all of you joining in on these convos ... hope they add a lot to your social media, and hope they get you thinking ... I know they get me thinking! Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" is definitely one of those mind benders, and on may levels. Please remember that when your post the dNeero widget, you have to add your own text ... make the entry interesting for your readers. And, oh yeah, make sure that you post the widget in your main content area. | Moms on Net Young mothers are an enormous and growing segment of social media. If you haven't been to any of the sites, you might want to take a moment. Generally these sites are genuine and active. One I ran into the other day is TwitterMoms. Not yet sure how Twitter plays with the site. I constructed this convo based on the recent posts at TwitterMoms.com. | SpitzTunes -- SpeakEasy! It's a Constitutional amendment I seem to recall ... something to do with free speech ... well then why not!? Seems to be OK in music lyrics, maybe plays, movies, and books -- heck, if it has to do with art, we can get away with anything - WOWSIE!! | It's About the Wicking! We've run several conversations about sports clothing because, overwhelmingly, dNeero-ites agree that working out, exercising, or competing is important to health. In our marketplaces we all see the evolution of products ... sometimes it's just for a new trend, and other times it's because of new technology ... maybe high performance sports clothing fits both those reasons. | It's just 12 months! We seem to do things by years -- 12 itsy-bitsy months ... school, bonuses, taxes, subscriptions, holidays, board membership, ... Oh, sure, Mother Nature gives us the earth's journey around the fireball, but does that mean we have to follow suit? | Your Health ... It's Good for You! The mind, the body, the family, the society ... let's talk about the bod ... why not, afterall there are mirrors all over the place ... and o yeah, that bod is the container in which we carry our minds around. | SpitzTunes -- Rappity, Rap! Every week when I sit down to pose questions for Spitz Tunes there is a constant question that goes thru my mind. Am I reaching an audience and do the questions cause you to think about music and how it has effected your life, your loves, even your losses? | SpitzTunes -- Give me a break! How do we do it ... mass migration to sun, fun, and well, other stuff ... music, music everywhere ... gyrating bods ... let off steam, go back ... have stories for a lifetime ... all good as long as our stupidity is somehow held in check ... is there such a thing as: Break responsibly? | Our Philippines Based on the "dNeero-ites in Asia" convo, we've culled a few questions for our Philippine members. | SpitzTunes - What's New It's Sping break here in Florida ... shops open up, beer is ordered, craziness happens ... and music abounds! Without music the Spring break would be sprung. Maybe in the next convo or two I'll give ya some Sping breakiness!? | SpitzTunes -- A Tribute Ain't Bad! Been an interesting couple of weeks with the gazillion dollar Stimulus Plan being approved and the stock market plummeting again, bankruptcies, layoffs, Standford corruption, talk of bank nationalization, 'Slum Dog Millionaire' and Heath Ledger winning ... where's the music? I find myself seeking more of it - car, work, home, eateries, beach ... need it, like it - solace! | | Page 1 of 7 Next |
